July Meeting Tentative Agenda

Notes:

  • Treasurer’s report
    • Vicky sending an email update. Balance is believed to be $7-8k.
  • Insurance status
    • Payment is due $130.03. Vicky said she would make a payment.
    • There was discussion of setting up recurring payment. No decisions were made about that.
    • Chris D found full insurance doc and will send it.
  • PO Box status
    • Ali has key and will check the PO box.
  • Grounds maintenance/lawn
    • Ali checking local resource for ongoing lawn care. We will pay approx. $30 per mow.
  • Youth board member (Chris A)
    • No new information reported.
  • Youth graphic artist progress (Chris A)
    • Chris A and Kaya finalizing a logo design and color palate.
  • West border landscaping and other near term property development
    • Chris D to get estimates on gravel removal. We already have quotes for topsoil.
    • We should hear back from the BOE or district this week on whether they are willing to support remediation.
    • Chris A creating revised design for signage.
    • Ali checking on benches for the property.
    • We can all look at Craigslist/marketplace for used benches, picnic tables.
  • Upcoming Events or fundraisers
    • Janice had the idea of an outdoor movie. She is going to develop that plan.
      • Board members should send ideas to Janice
      • Chris A suggests engaging the library
    • Other ideas, either during the movie or at another time
      • Chicken BBQ
      • Food trucks
  • Longer term items
    • Youth center needs assessment subgroup
      • Not discussed
    • Youth center development
      • Brian noted that the positions of sewer manhole covers near the property may indicate that a sewer line may traverse the NYC property
      • Brian reports that the school currently does not plan to use the municipal sewer system and that the NYC property sits between the school and the the current septic tank
      • Chris reports that the Dig Safely request did not identify a sewer line but this would be considered out of scope as a private item rather than public
      • No board members are aware of an easement for the use of the property
      • David volunteered to research whether this is called out on our deed
      • A sewer line could affect our plans for property development
