Introduction – Provided brief history of recent events over past few years regarding NYC. Nardine has just moved back to the area, and is interested in becoming a member. Nardine shared her past work with youth in Naples as well as in Vermont. Motioned to invite Nardine to NYC Board which was seconded and accepted by the rest of the Board.
Treasurer’s report: Minimal change to statement balance – ~$7774.
Insurance Review/Update: ~$500/year to revise insurance policy to cover for parking cars and events. Will go into effect 8/1/19. Vicki will go and cut check and sign policy.
Grass maintenance: Janice to ask Jim Price if he would be willing to donate his time/equipment to maintain the grass the rest of the summer.
Fence Installation (South border): Vicki to talk with Al Wilcox regarding donation of materials for fencing. Chris A has discussed possibly getting John Yurkovich’s auger for hole digging.
West border: Chris A to speak with Jim P about a donation of some trees for the west border at cost.
Bench Installation: Lengthy discussion on possible donations from community members for memorial opportunities (Nardine suggestion). Ali to look into some possible bench styles and send around as email.
Grape Festival fundraising: Janice to discuss parking with Robotics Club (Jodie Schwartz). NYC will ask for 25% of monies raised by any group other than NYC for parking. Will look at developing an event Friday evening of Grape Festival Weekend for youth. Discussed electric availability – Vicki to contact NYSEG to determine responsibility for resuming access and location of electric for property.
Little library: David W shared information on this project. NYC agreed to participate in program. Shana Williams would like to take this on with a few NYC members. Janice and Ali volunteered to join her.
Press Release: Chris D to put text together for the website, Facebook page/Community page to raise awareness for bench fundraiser.
