Geared Up for Change 2023

This year, Geared Up For Change is donating all proceeds from their annual bike ride fundraiser to the Naples Youth Corp! (& we are so honored!)

Geared Up For Change Founder Matthew Jackson and his friend Jason Pulver are planning a bike tour from Rochester, NY to Naples Youth Corp property via Letchworth State Park! 100 miles total, in 2 days 1 night!

Who is Matt?
Matt is a Naples native that grew up riding his bike through the hills in the company of loving family and friends. He loves spending time with his friends and family, eating good food, working with kids, and being outside. Matt currently lives in the Buffalo, NY area and is a school psychologist.

Why is he doing this?
In an effort to give back to the communities that have raised and welcomed him, for the past three years, Matt has organized a fundraiser to support youth in his communities. In the past, Matt has completed these fundraisers on his own. This year, however, the company of a childhood (and current!) friend on the ride inspired the pair to try and keep the funds raised in the community that they called home for much of their lives. Geared Up For Change is an effort to take action and foster growth and change that promotes equity, diversity, justice, and inclusion in our communities.

How did we get so lucky?
In an effort to keep the funds raised in Naples, NY, and after ardent conversation with Naples Youth Corp. President, Chris Abraham, a shared focus on supporting youth became clear, and it was just a matter of time before this year’s Geared Up For Change partnership was born.
